After searching all weekend for a black owned nail salon nearby, I had a fantastic first visit to Soak & Polish for my gel manicure! From when I walked into the door, I received a warm welcome and offered a drink. I loved the decor and the lovely vibe. Zae also a manager, was amazing and did a wonderful job grooming my nails, which weren't in the best shape. She was also sweet, kind and thorough in my manicure. They also have a nice selection of scrubs made in house and I enjoyed the lemon grass one and can't wait to try others! I will definitely be a regular to this gem. And can't wait to come back next for a pedicure plus another manicure!
Shay, Bethany, and Rob were AMAZING! My sister and I did the Hawaiian pedicure and the Red Velvet pedicure and they were both WONDERFUL! We had wine, foot masks, scrubs, paraffin wax, and the pedicures were perfection. A perfect Sunday afternoon. Come here for a beautiful, relaxing pedicure or manicure!
Great atmosphere and wonderful experience! The nail techs took great care of us and the hospitality was unmatched. Bethany was very professional and sweet, and did not rush through my service which I really appreciated. The attention paid to detail was also very refreshing. Thank you Soak & Polish! Would definitely visit again!
Another day at Soak and Polish! I’ve been here time and time again and they never ever disappoint! This time I had the pleasure of getting the Jelly Pedicure Remix by Bethany and she was such a beautiful soul and so attentive. My aunt and I got here an hour earlier than our original appointment and they were still able to squeeze us in and were so kind about it. Also, the complimentary sangria was amazing! Highly recommend!
I Googled the best nail salons in Atlanta an I came across this salon. I honestly love supporting Black owned businesses because I am a black entrepreneur. So when I visited the salon the atmosphere is very pleasant and I was greeted upon arrival. They were very kind and attentive at first. I know I am very particular about how my nails and toes are done. So with that being said I explained exactly how I needed my toes done to a young gentleman. Also, I was very polite to him and a young lady named Bethany. Bethany was very nice did an amazing job on my nails. However, the gentleman who was providing service to my toes seemed very disgusted with my feet. Honestly, I know that my feet were looking very unpleasant and I actually needed to make them look better. Therefore, I explained detail how they have to be done an he stated that he completely understood. So when was done I realized he actually made my toe look worse an I was beyond upset about how horrible my toes looked. I have pictures below to show how bad my toes look. This is why I did not say anything at all & even gave him a $15 although he did not deserve the tip at all. Sometimes you have to show people kindness when they are not doing their best an treat them better than they treated you. I genuinely thanked everyone for their time and service although my toes were not done properly at all.He continued to have a disgusted or maybe that he did not want to be bothered look on his face when I asked for his cashapp to send a tip an never said thank you and looked away as if I was beneath him. Actually, the ladies who were checking me out had the same demeanor and they took a really long time even come over to assist me. I’m not sure what the issue is but I am so disappointed in the service I received at this salon. Energy doesn’t lie or face expressions. This sad how people are supposed representing our people and they treat people this way. I wish this salon the best moving forward but I will never recommend this salon anyone after this experience ever nor will I come to this establishment.
What I wanted…vs what I got…vs a happy ending.
Visited for the first time on Sunday. Easy to schedule online, and not a long wait. Enjoyed some Moscato until it was my turn.
Came in for a full set, and showed the tech what I wanted — the photo with gold flecks, but with brown polish.
When it was time to get to the flakes, I saw her struggling using a few different tools trying to figure it out - tweezers, then a round tip something, and then a sponge. Flakes all over a paper towel on her bench while she tried to break it up. But this was a very different style for me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
The final product was this outbreak-looking mess across my nails. I was shocked. And because she was filing my nails so hard to shape the acrylics, she cut my fingers; you can see that in the picture of my middle finger. I put on Neosporin when I got home. You can also see that the nail on the same finger has a gap btwn my natural nail and the acrylic, so that will lift soon. I was so upset about the design that I forgot to mention it during the repair the next day (keep reading).
Me: “Um…this design isn’t the picture. This isn’t what I expected at all.”
Her: “That’s bc it’s encapsulated in the picture.”
Me: “This is the first time that I’m hearing the word Encapsulated in my life. This isn’t what I wanted, and I wish you would have said something…”
Her: “Well some people like it like that. Mind if I take a video of your hands? Cross them like this…”
Yall….I’ve never hated nails more in my life. She didn’t care when she knew I wasn’t happy. Them things scratched up my damn legs trying to go to the bathroom.
0 stars for that experience — but 3 stars for the redeeming customer service. I haven't included her name bc I literally can't remember it.
Sandy at the front desk took the issue really seriously and told the manager. Desmond & Shay came over to take a look, and they were just quiet. Shay volunteered to fix the other girl’s work. The manager listened, and was nice about the issue. I went back the next day, and tipped Shay for taking ownership to fix a bang job when she didn’t have to.
All of that to say — BE SURE to talk thru your design with the tech WITH A PLAN bc you might be unlucky too.
I'm not sure that I'll go back a third time to get the lifted nail fixed. The rest of the staff was great, but literally one person doing such a bad job impacts a business's reputation. A lazy job messes with EVERYBODY's money. That's not fair to everyone else who wants to do a consistently good job with integrity.
But I really liked the shop. I was just unlucky.
Called soak & polish today. Was able to set up a same day appointment for 3:30. Then I call back to switch for 4:15 due to me having a meeting. They accommodated me with no problem. Demond was excellent and took his time to take care of my nails and make sure everything was right. Will be coming back asap.
My first time going here and I love it! This whole place is a vibe. I had an uplifting experience. Relaxing energy, beautiful decor, and the staff are very welcoming. Everyone is knowledgeable about their job and you can see and feel the passion in their work. The engagement with their clients is exceptional. Christie was my tech. She's awesome and she's hilarious ! I certainly recommend this spot for your pampering self care needs. 🙂💕
